Boho Brand Introduction: Johnny Was
I was first introduced to this high end Boho brand at a blogger crawl here in Scottsdale at their branded store in Kierland Commons.
Go ahead and click on the IG and check it out, I will wait…
Ok, now that we are back. One thing I wasn’t sure about when I first visited their website was the price tag. Chalk it up to my humble upbringing but spending well over $200 for a t shirt or casual dress seemed crazy to me!
The thing I realized was this — I’m not (most likely) going to have an entire wardrobe from Johnny Was without my husband having a heart attack. So more likely it will be capsule pieces that are timeless.
The quality and craftsmanship put into this clothing line makes the price tag not only understandable, but so worth it.
These aren’t what I like to call “throw away clothes.”
Meaning the price is low enough that if it gets stained, washed wrong, shrunk, stretched, ripped, etc. I just toss it and buy something new. — (I know, not environmentally good on my part, I KNOW!)
- Side note — I worked for an embroidery shop that mostly did hats and jackets in my 20s off and on for trade shows, so I know the quality and precision of embroidery work.
In addition to the clothing line, the silk scarves have such vibrant colors and if you’ve never felt real silk just go to either the Johnny Was location or Neiman Marcus to feel them.
AMAZING.
The soap and candle scents are none like I’ve ever smelled. I’m usually not much of a floral scent fan but they have me sooo hooked!
And the coolest part is their soap packages and all their labels match that of the colors of the stores. The soap comes wrapped in a little piece of velvet while the clothing tags have a tassel and embroidery work of the brand’s name.
Attention to detail hasn’t slipped on this brand, they make even the smallest details stand out.
It’s no wonder Johnny Was has been around in the luxury fashion scene and will continue to stay for infinite time! You can find them in Neiman Marcus and a few luxury websites.
I know they are going to be in my closet for a long time coming!
What are your thoughts on this lux brand? What are your thoughts on luxury Boho? I’d love to continue the conversation with you.
