As temperatures start to warm up or cool down, it’s important to remember the biggest organ of the body — our skin. And one way to do that is to stay hydrated, wear sunscreen, and try your best to stay out of the direct sun. It’s an all day long process of replenishing your skin, not just at the end of the day. Replenish your body’s protective layer throughout the day, don’t take your skin health for granted because it often leads to dehydrated, dull, and dry skin. UV rays trigger free radical damages like wrinkles and fine lines so, make sure to take great care of your skin while having fun under the sun. While the sun can bring in so many fun activities, it can also cause damage brought by toxins, dust, and grime clogging the pores. Drink water, warm water if possible. It’s the most basic and most vital tip to replenish not just your skin but your entire body. Eat food that helps replenish your skin
As you aim for radiant skin, make sure to fuel your skin cells from the inside. Eat food that nourishes them, like fruits and vegetables. Consult your dietician and ask which food is best for every layer of skin. Here’s my roundup of the most hydrating foods with high water content to help replace all that water loss!
One of those commonly suggested is Avocado, considered as a superfood with vitamin E. It has an anti-inflammatory function that keeps your skin glowing and hydrated.

Using harsh ingredients on your face is one of the best ways to ensure dull, scarred, and downright painful dry skin. This is why dry skin especially calls for a gentle cleanser. If you can, choose one with hyaluronic acid to further help hydrate and replenish your skin’s moisture barrier.

It bears stressing that exfoliating is necessary, but the most vital part is how you properly do it. Dry and dead skin cells can make our skin look and feel dull. It often leads to pimple breakouts and sometimes eczema. It’s all about speeding up the life cycle of your cells. The faster they replenish, the more glowy your skin will look.
Exfoliating, it can allow the serums and moisturizers to penetrate your skin better. It makes your complexion brighter and healthy-looking at the same time prevents pores from clogging. I can tell when I need to exfoliate because my skin starts to feel heavy on my face and my makeup products don’t work as well on my face. This one is my favorite by far.

These researchers suspect that stress causes an increase in sebum production. It blocks the pores and creates more skin problems.
Look for a stress-relieving activity, maybe yoga, working out, Zumba, reading a book, or simply watching a good film. All this for you to relax your mind and learn to classify your thoughts.
Get your beauty sleep
Never underestimate the value of sleep. Just like drinking water, napping and sleeping are free and can improve your skin tone. According to the National Sleep Foundation, sleep deprivation is detrimental to your health and impacts the skin. One possible result is premature skin aging. Sun exposure is a stressor, and without sufficient sleep, it will be a challenge for your skin to repair any damages. So sleep adequately to keep that skin glow permanently.
Moisturize your body
The holy grail of skincare is skin moisturizers. They keep your skin hydrated, smooth, clear, and your future self will thank you later.
Your skin’s moisture barrier can maintain the proper balance if you use the right moisturizer that matches it. Blemishes are evened out, and they can help your skin repair itself.

Buy what you really like not because it is in trend. Even in that, if you already have plenty of good clothes in the closet, don’t look to buy more. The principle of minimalism dictates you be satisfied with what you already have. So be satisfied and grateful for the clothes you already have.
Cosmetics
We all have lipsticks we don’t use, yet we want a shade that looks only a little different from what we own. But this is how minimalism works; it forbids you from buying duplicate or somewhat identical stuff.
When you already have red lipstick, why would you buy another shade in the line of red? It does not matter, and you have to change this propensity to buy similar products if you are going to be a minimalist.
The same goes for other cosmetics. When you already have one cosmetic, wait till you completely consume it, only then buy a new one. Don’t accumulate cosmetics just because you think you might use them later. Just stick to one. All the more, stick to one brand; don’t buy similar products of different brands thinking they are different.
Bottled water
While being a minimalist, take a moment to think about the environment. When you keep on buying bottled water, you are creating a demand for plastic. Moreover, when you discard these bottles, you are discarding plastic which takes millions of years to decompose.

If you are an avid book reader, you will most likely have a home stuffed with books, even those that you have already read. I understand books are our best friend, and reading comes packed with benefits. But think about how it adds clutter to your home.
If you want to read new books, then invest in a Kindle, or buy e-books. However, if you still bear unconditional love for paper books, then lend them from your local libraries or your friends, instead of buying them. Moreover, about the books that you already have read, consider lending them to those in need. It’s the greatest level of kindness to offer someone books.

Because I have a lot of super thick hair and also have two girls, I love Dyson products because they are quiet, work fast, are quick at drying hair of all types, and are lightweight for my arm to hold. I also like that they have the multi-way that comes with a bunch of different attachments that work with the Dyson motor so I don’t need to pack a bunch of hair tools when traveling. FYI – I’ve seen now on Amazon, you can buy a refurbished Dyson and it literally works the same as a brand new one, at 1/2 the cost!
Maybe the Dyson isn’t in your budget, or you don’t have 3 heads of hair to do regularly, so let’s look at other options I have used and researched as the best out there.

If you have fine hair, the Revlon One-Step Hair Dryer and Volumizer are amazing because it cuts drying time in half and also give your hair a little extra oomph. It’s under $60 and comes with great reviews.

If you want to curl your hair without any heat, try the InStyler Max Wet to Dry Hair Straightener. You put your hair in when it’s wet, and it dries and styles at the same time. It also comes with a safety glove to avoid any accidental burns.

The Dry Bar has made its own line of products, which I have used and loved in the past, including the Buttercup Blow Dryer. It’s a little more expensive than some of the others, but it comes with a lot of features like ionic technology to reduce frizz and has different heat settings for different hair types. Their Straightener is also fantastic. I have taken all of the tools that I own to our condo in Maui so I don’t have to pack tools when I visit the islands twice a year, and the girls can use them too when they are there.
