Did you know that some parts of the US attribute heart attacks to job-related stress? Totally crazy, right? So much so that work-related injuries garner more than adequate compensations.
Through the years, there were studies conducted claiming that massive sources of American adults’ stress are highly caused by workplace stress. In a StressPulse survey by ComPsych in 2006, the leading causes of stress are workload, people issues at work, juggling work and personal lives, and lack of job security.
It’s definitely not surprising because when you’re overwhelmed with work, it’s easy to fall into the toxic cycle of feeling stressed, confused, and ultimately, burnout. So, what are the ways to handle it? Can you lower your stress levels at work? Let me share with you some of the strategies you can use when you are overwhelmed at work.
What To Do When You Are Overwhelmed At Work
Find the source of your stress.
Being overwhelmed at work is sometimes isolating and alienating. It often leads to blaming what you feel on something else or someone else. It could be an officemate, spouse, or friend. However, to adequately address it, you have to identify the source of your work stress.
It’s not an easy thing to do because most of the time, the reasons are pent-up. Self-assessment is the key to this. Use a “Why” approach to list down your guessed cause and ask why until you get to the bottom of it.
For example, I’m stressed because I work beyond my time.
Why?
I can’t finish all my tasks in a day.
Why?
I have so many tasks.
Why?
I’m spending too much time on meetings.
Why?
I’m taking in the tasks of a resigned coworker.
You can also start a journal or a spreadsheet to help you identify the triggers of your stress. To reduce the overwhelm, set up goals, pay attention to your tasks, how they make you feel, and when you are prone to procrastination.
Set boundaries.
Usually, boundaries at work mean putting value to your time. When your workload is growing, don’t resort to more extended hours. Respect your break time. It will help your mind to see the bigger picture and better solutions.
Set boundaries by learning how to say NO by asking questions and holding yourself accountable for using your time. A well-defined schedule is a life-saver.
Take time to plan.
Set aside some time to create a plan on how you will go around your tasks and schedule. The goal here is to be efficient at a given time and use resources available to you effectively. Create that actionable list. The more visible your plans are, the less time it will take you to worry about tackling them.
Don’t fret. Planning is part of the process. By writing it down in your journal, you are making a guide for yourself. It gives an insight on what to prioritize and which task needs to focus on at a particular time.
Ask for help.
Outsource, delegate, ask for help. Look at the list you made. Categorize the tasks with high priority, those you can do, and those that you can request assistance with. If it’s something, you can pass off to someone else, if they can do better than you at doing it, then delegate. Or simply just ask for help in terms of talking to someone about what’s going on at work. This can be a friend, family member, or even a co-worker.
Recognize the abilities of those around you; if they’re capable of finishing the task adequately, then you’re good. Remember, asking for help doesn’t mean you’re weak. It means you value teamwork and understands the importance of self-care and time. Asking for help is also a great way to practice mindfulness when it comes to you and your own boundaries.
Take a break.
Breaks are essential; they are breathers that help you look at things in perspective without the weight of workload. It is a means of taking care of yourself. Use this time to eat good food, walk around the block, have a quick stroll, go on vacation, take a nap, hang out with friends, go on a date, or watch a movie.
Take that precious time to clear your mind off everything work-related and focus on your well-being. It will reset your point of view, and most likely, you will find a spark of joy at the workplace again.
Set realistic goals.
Put together a list of daily or weekly goals to help you prioritize and maintain your schedule at work. This can also help you to enjoy small wins by creating digestible tasks. Goals are super helpful at work and in normal life.
Try breathing exercises.
Breathing exercises, or simply taking a big, deep breath, can seriously help you feel better. It can transform the way you feel, and really set the tone for your day. Start with breathing exercises every morning, or learn how to use them when things aren’t going right.
Say goodbye to overwhelm and hello to a positive work balance.
Sometimes, it feels like you’re drowning in a rabbit hole of to-do lists and you don’t feel complete at work. However, this doesn’t have to take so much of your energy and time. Stress is a result of something, and if appropriately addressed, you can reign that control of your workload and time back. On top of it all, take care of yourself. After all, you’re working to have a better life, so don’t let it get the best of you. Work smart, live happily, and reduce stress in your life.
Ps: Don’t forget that you’re never alone and it’s okay to speak up about what’s going on. If you feel you need to, speaking to a mental health professional who can help you deal with feeling overwhelmed can be hugely beneficial. You got this!
To achieve your goals and live the life you want to live, you need to learn how to set intentions for manifestation. Use these tips to help.
Goals…intentions…manifestations. Chances are you’ve heard these words, but do you know what they mean and how to apply them to your lives? Think of that goal that excites you as your “what”. Then take it a step further and think about what the feeling is that you hope that goal will bring into your life – that’s your “why”.
And we’re not done yet. You can take it one step further to manifesting. The manifestation process is the act of making your wants into a reality. Our intentions are the driving force behind manifesting the things we desire in life. And by setting intentions for manifestation, you can live a free and purposeful life. Join me on this journey and learn how to set intentions!
If our intentions are the driving force behind manifesting the things we want in our lives, then intention setting is the first step in the process of manifesting. Creating intentions should be fun and exciting because they are things you want to do. And it’s far more than simply thinking about a goal.
Here are 5 helpful tips for setting intentions, staying positive, and turning your mindset into a reality. Take a look!
Create a Mantra
Take a moment to think about what you want. How are you subconsciously stopping yourself from achieving it? Push all those negative thoughts away and create a positive mantra that you can repeat to yourself and help you continue to work towards manifesting. Here are some examples of what a simple intention/mantra may look like on paper:
I intend to process my emotions before responding.
I will strive to have a productive day.
I intend to forgive myself and others.
I intend to love myself and others.
I will make self-care a priority.
Share Your Intention With Someone Else
Sharing your intentions with another person will help you stay focused and accountable to your goals. Setting powerful intentions and sharing them with someone else can also make that a more real and spoken word instead of simply keeping it in your head and not feeling real. This person can be your accountability buddy and keep you on track with your intentions.
Create a Ritual
This one is really important because everyone can falter in their work towards an intention from time to time. Make your intentions part of your morning routine. The routine should make you feel good, as you want the good feelings to give you more in achieving the good vibrations and emotions and relate that to your manifestations.
For example, if you like to enjoy a cup of coffee each morning, make it a point to visualize your intentions and manifestation as you sip your coffee. Maybe you feel extra powerful meditating under full moons each month. Focus your thoughts and intentions on manifesting what you want even more so then.
Ask for What You Want
As your day begins, take a moment to ask for what you want. Then let it go so that you aren’t trying to control every bit of your day to match your desire. Trust the process and let the law of attraction work in your life. It might be helpful to create a vision board to help you organize what you want. Part of the intention-setting process is about trusting and knowing that what you ask for is coming to you. Let the law of attraction support you in achieving what you ask for, and not worrying it will happen.
Without financial abundance, this one part can be really hard. We all worry about money sometimes. But the key to manifestation is knowing that if you’re meant to manifest your desire, you will. It will just come. The best way to do this is to write out your intentions so that you can practice manifestation + visualizing it. You can do this while you’re doing your daily journal entry, or separately. Either way, writing out your intentions will attract them to you.
How To Write Intentions for Manifestation
Intentions for manifestation are simple sentences that are harmonious with your desires/wants. When writing your intentions, you’ll want to write in the present tense or future tense, because you are currently striving to achieve them. By writing them down, reading them over and over, and even stating them out loud, you are using the power of attraction to manifest the highest good for your life. In a way, you are also motivating and inspiring yourself to achieve these intentions.
Writing an intention statement looks different for everyone. And there is no perfect intention. So, feel free to try a few different sets of intention statements until you find the ones that work best for you. Good intention statements, similar to affirmations, focus on the feelings of positive energy, motivation, and your deepest desires. See examples of intention statements above!
Practice Gratitude
It’s important to be grateful for everything you have at this moment. Once you do that, take it a step further by practicing gratitude for what you deeply desire. Because that act of repeatedly focusing on your intention will keep you working towards manifestation. By creating a habit and a pattern, you reinforce your goals and pave the way for success.
The Benefits of Setting Intentions
Manifesting your intentions which you deeply desire may sound a little “out there” to some people, but there are real benefits to participating in this practice. Just remember to keep your mind wide open, and the inspiration and manifestation will come.
Encourages positivity.
Starting your day with setting intentions sets the tone for the day, increases self-awareness, and can transform it by creating a positive mindset. Be sure to frame your intentions in a positive way to set a positive tone for the day. For example, “I will take calming breaths when stressful things arise today” rather than “I want to avoid stressful situations today.” This will help you keep moving forward productively even when challenges arise.
Improves your productivity.
Just as setting positive intentions sets the mental mind space for the day, it also affects your productivity. Positive intentions can discourage procrastination and encourage productivity toward manifestation. Your life will completely change when you encourage positive intentions and productivity.
Helps you take aligned action.
Even if you employ the law of attraction to the greatest degree possible, you still have to take action to achieve your goals. Taking action is what propels you forward toward success in achieving your goals. Use your daily intentions to break your larger goal up into small chunks so you can systematically and logically move forward toward manifestation in a non-overwhelming way.
Makes you more focused.
By setting just a few intentions each day, you can work on taking aligned action in small, manageable chunks to avoid procrastination and be more mindful and focused on accomplishing those small tasks.
Examples Of Daily Intentions
Daily intentions are a powerful tool for setting the tone of your day and guiding your actions. Some examples of daily intentions include setting a goal to be more present and mindful throughout the day, practicing gratitude by reflecting on things you are thankful for, prioritizing self-care by taking breaks when needed, committing to making healthy choices with your diet and exercise and focusing on positive self-talk to boost your confidence and self-esteem. By setting daily intentions, you can cultivate a positive mindset and take steps towards achieving your goals and living a happier, more fulfilling life.
Here are six examples of daily intentions:
Start the day with a positive attitude and mindset.
Practice gratitude by reflecting on things you are thankful for.
Prioritize self-care by taking breaks when needed and doing things that make you feel good.
Be present and mindful throughout the day.
Set specific goals for the day and take action towards achieving them.
Cultivate a sense of inner peace and calmness through meditation or other mindfulness practices.
Harness the power of setting intentions for manifestation and start manifesting your dream today!
Setting intentions may not seem like a big deal on the surface, but learning how to set intentions for manifestation is a powerful tool that longer serves you in achieving your goals. Setting intentions requires a sound, solid understanding, and now you have all the info you need to THRIVE! You’re on your way to living a more fulfilled and intentional life every day.
I’ve read somewhere that we become what we repeatedly do. And I agree, but full disclosure, I have habits that I’m proud of, and there are those that I want to get away from. But, as we all know about bad habits, sometimes they’re just so hard to break. Habits can be good or bad. Whether it’s the food we love, the exercises we do, the way we drive, how we spend our weekends, or retail therapy, if it’s something you do routinely, then it’s a habit.
To change something in your life means incorporating habits into your routines. Sometimes it’s to change direction in your professional or personal life or the quality of your lifestyle that propels you to cultivate new habits. Habits are formed by doing it repeatedly, consciously, and subconsciously.
There’s a 21/90 rule claiming that to make a new habit, it takes 21 days, and for it to be a permanent lifestyle change will take 90 days. You have to be committed to these changes. According to research, about 40% of daily activities are performed daily by people in quite similar settings and situations. In a session at the American Psychological Association’s 122nd Annual Convention, Wendy Wood said that “We find patterns of behavior that allow us to reach goals. We repeat what works, and when actions are repeated in a stable context, we form associations between cues and response.”
Unlearning bad habits and learning new ones is essential because change is inevitable. It happens at the home, workplace, school, and digital space. Cultivating new habitual behaviors is required towards a new lifestyle, better, healthier, and more meaningful. The process can be tedious, but there are ways to make it easier. Here are what I do; personally, that helps me cultivate good habits.
How Can We Cultivate Good Habits
Be clear and focused with what you want.
Before doing anything, know what you want, your goals, your end game. Be clear of what you want to change in your life, and it should be for yourself and not for someone else. If you’re planning to change your diet, be specific about what you want to attain.
Is it to lose weight? Be physically stronger? Be mentally healthier? When your mind is all set on a goal, it’s easier to follow through with your planned changes. Be goal-oriented, and making decisions will be easier.
Use motivating rewards.
Changing habits can be daunting. Create a rewards system that will keep you motivated. Make sure that the rewards will not steer you away from progress. In other words, it should still be aligned with your ultimate goal. One example is rewarding yourself with lovely athletic wear if you’re able to maintain your exercise stats for two weeks. It is helpful, especially if you’re into a pretty workout outfit. It’s a simple reward that indeed makes you more motivated to work out.
Start simple.
The secret to getting ahead is getting started even in small increments. Taking the smallest steps in the direction you want is enough to say that you’re on the right track and who knows, it ends up being the most significant step in your lifetime. For example, to have a healthier eating habits, you can start with changing your breakfast routine by having fresh fruits.
Trust the process.
Cultivating new habits is a process, and that process is as important as your final goal. Hold your vision and trust the process. It’s essential to be patient with yourself as you go through every step of the change. Stay consistent in your faith that you can get through it, and things will work out the way they’re supposed to be.
Get rid of temptations.
Be mindful of what you surround yourself with. If you want to curb your spending habits, get rid of online shopping apps, unfollow online shops in your social media accounts, and unsubscribe to newsletters from your usual online shops. Curate your exposure to temptations and be consistent with them.
Get an accountability partner.
Tell someone who you trust so much, someone who will help you be accountable for your actions. They can give you extra motivation because knowing that your goals is acknowledged by someone else will push you to be consistent. Posting your plan somewhere also helps in getting accountable.
Tracking Your Progress
Knowing how you’re faring in your goals or new habits helps inconsistency. Keeping track of your progress means being purposeful. Whether they’re small or big wins, track it. When you see your results, you’re giving more meaning to what you’re doing, and it also gives you an insight into the value you’re adding to your life.
Good Habits to Cultivate
Read more.
Reading helps you have a new perspective of the world, regardless of the genre. Before sleeping or during your downtime, keep a book on your bedside table or your bag. Choose a book that resonates with your interest so it would be easy to build your reading habit. You can start to create a habit that instead of picking up your phone to mindlessly scroll, you instead pick up a book and enjoy some nice pages.
Eat a balanced diet.
Make some changes to your eating habits. Eat more organic food and make sure you’re drinking enough water. Even drinking a glass of water with breakfast, lunch, and dinner is a great way to make a simple change. You can check with a nutritionist to see which diet works for you best. Even if you’re not ready to take a massive leap yet, just be gentle with yourself and opt for small changes like adding more meat and leafy greens to your diet and avoiding sugar or any nasties that might make you feel worse.
Exercise regularly.
Take some time to exercise in your daily life. It is massively beneficial to your mental health and helps in having a better sleeping pattern. The first step towards a healthy lifestyle is to just get out there and get going. Whether you go for a five minute walk or a ten mile run, you will be making a massive difference in your life. Even five minutes of yoga or gentle breathing is a great way to create a healthy habit.
Establish a positive mental attitude.
Establishing a positive mental attitude is extra important in every aspect of your life, especially when it comes to creating positive habits. Developing a positive mental attitude makes you see things differently. It also helps you control your stress levels and indulge in healthy habits. A positive mental attitude, even if you fake it til you make it at first, will eventually become the real deal and help you live a much better life with good habits.
Embrace change.
Change always happens, it’s part of life, but of course, it doesn’t mean that it’s easy to embrace some of those changes. Since the future is uncertain, make sure to learn how to adapt so you’d be able to add value to your life and the community.
Take time.
Prioritize yourself. You can’t pour from an empty cup, so spend some time yourself and do what makes you happy. You need to take time to really invest in YOU. If you need a little more time to start or more time to get going, don’t panic! Everyone has different timelines and not everyones life looks the same. Be gentle with yourself and give yourself plenty of time to make changes.
Take time to create positive habits in your life.
Cultivating new habits is part of self-care. To keep you motivated, just remember that you’re doing it because you want to have a better life. While it may seem hard at first, you need to have some faith in yourself, implement the tips above in your daily routine, and you’ll be well on your way to creating a habitually better life!

When you’re feeling overwhelmed, take a deep breath and step away from whatever is causing you stress. Take a walk, take a long bath, or just sit in silence for a few minutes. It may not seem like much, but taking a break will help to clear your head and give you the space you need to recenter yourself. You’ll be surprised how refreshed you feel after just a few minutes of de-stressing
2. Practice breathing exercises.
When life gets overwhelming, it’s easy to get caught up in negative thoughts and forget to show ourselves some forgiveness. That’s where deep breathing exercises come in. Take a moment to focus on your breath and remind yourself that it’s okay to make mistakes and have off days. By practicing self-forgiveness, you’ll release the weight of self-criticism and give yourself the space to heal and grow. So take a deep breath in, let it all out, and embrace your imperfectly awesome self.
3. Get organized.
One of the best ways to recharge your batteries is to spend some time getting organized.
This may seem like a counterintuitive way to spend your time, but in the long run, it can pay off. When everything is in its place and you have a system for keeping track of things, you’ll find that you spend less time feeling frazzled and more time feeling recharged. Plus, taking the time to get organized now will save you time in the future. So if you’re feeling run down, spend some time getting your life in order and recharging your batteries. You’ll be glad you did!
4. Exercise more.
One of the best ways to recharge yourself after a long day is to get up and move your body. Even if you don’t feel like it, 20 minutes of physical activity can help you to feel more alert and refreshed. And there’s no need to go all out at the gym; a brisk walk around the block will do the trick.
The fresh air can help give you the clarity you need to feel good the rest of the day. So next time you’re feeling drained, take some time for yourself and go for a refreshing workout. You’ll be glad you did.
5. Connect with loved ones.
We all have those days when we feel exhausted, drained, and just plain tired. It can be hard to get through the day when you’re feeling like that, but there are some things you can do to recharge yourself. One of those things is to connect with loved ones. Whether it’s catching up with an old friend or spending time with family, connecting with people who care about you can leave you feeling refreshed and invigorated.
And don’t forget to add some essential oils to the mix! Certain essential oils can help to increase energy levels and improve mental focus. So if you’re looking for a way to recharge yourself, reach out to your loved ones and add some essential oils to the mix.
6. Eat healthy foods.
Eating healthy foods is not only important for physical health, but it can also improve mental well-being. When we feel exhausted and overwhelmed, it can be tempting to reach for unhealthy comfort foods or opt for unhealthy drug or alcohol choices. However, these foods can actually make us feel worse in the long run. Instead, taking a few minutes to eat something nutritious can help to improve energy levels and reduce stress.
If you’re short on time, even a simple snack or cup of tea can make a difference. So next time you’re feeling drained, take a step back and refuel with some healthy food. Your mind and body will thank you for it. Target things like leafy greens, healthy fats, and whole grains.
7. Take a long bath or shower.
We all know that delightful feeling of hot water cascading down our tired bodies. It’s not just about getting clean; it’s about building your self-esteem. Taking the time to pamper yourself shows that you value your own well-being. Plus, the warm water helps ease both physical and mental tension. So hop into that tub with Epsom salt to loosen your muscles or let the shower wash away your stress. You’ll emerge feeling refreshed, rejuvenated, and ready to conquer the world!
8. Spend time outdoors.
According to the National Institutes of Health, being in nature can lower your blood pressure, heart rate, and levels of the stress hormone cortisol. One study even found that looking at pictures of nature can boost your mood, support your mental health, and help your attention span. So go for a walk in the park, sit by a lake, or spend some time in your backyard.
If you can’t get outside, try to bring some nature indoors with a houseplant or two. Studies have found that people who work in offices with plants report feeling less stressed than those who don’t have any greenery around them. And there’s also evidence that being around plants can improve your memory and cognitive function. So spending time outdoors or surrounded by plants is a great way to give yourself a mental and physical break from stress.
9. Listen to your favorite music.
When you’re feeling drained, paying attention to the music you love can make all the difference. It’s like hitting the “reset” button for your mood. Whether you rock out to some high-energy tunes or float away on calming melodies, music has the magical ability to transport you to a happier place. So put on your favorite jams and let them work their magic on your emotional exhaustion. It’s like a mini-concert for your soul!
10. Unplug from technology.
If you’re feeling run down, it might be time to take a break from technology. That doesn’t mean you have to go off the grid, but taking a break from your phone, computer, and TV can do wonders for your energy levels. For one thing, you’ll probably get more sleep without screens keeping you up at night. You may also find that you have more time to cook healthy meals or go for walks. And stretching your body can help to release tension and improve your circulation. So if you’re looking for ways to recharge, start by disconnecting from your devices.
11. Stay hydrated.
This literally sounds so simple, but it is the BEST way to stay recharged. Seriously, go drink some water, add in some lemons for a nice self-care touch, and go out in the sun while you sip away. Keeping your body hydrated can really help you feel replenished and recharged. Feeling energized is very often associated with being properly hydrated by fresh water.
12. Try something new.
Recharge yourself by stepping out of your comfort zone by exploring a new activity or hobby. You can take a dance class, try a new yummy recipe, or visit a new place. This can stimulate your brain, provide fresh experiences, and reignite your enthusiasm for life.

How To Start Your Life Over And Reinvent Yourself
Starting over can be tough, but learning to love yourself isn’t impossible. You’ve got to be your own hype person and acknowledge that you’re capable of so much. Once you’ve got that down, take some time to reflect on what you want out of life – what makes you happy? What gives you purpose? Use those answers to set some goals and chart a new course. Don’t be afraid to step out of your comfort zone and try new things. Remember, starting over isn’t about erasing your past; it’s about embracing the present and creating a better future. So go out there and rock it – you deserve it!
Tips for Starting Over and Reinventing Yourself
The new year is a time when many of us feel inspired to start over, although we can start over any time we want. We may have failed to meet our goals in the past, or we may simply be ready for a fresh start.
Whatever the reason, starting over can be a precious gift. It allows us to let go of old baggage and start living the life we truly want to live. However, starting over can also be difficult and overwhelming.
If you’re not sure how to start, here are a few tips that can help you rebuild your life.
Take a break.
Sometimes we need to take a break from our lives to recenter ourselves. This could mean taking a vacation, going on a retreat, or simply spending some time alone in nature. This break will give you the time and space you need to heal and learn how to start getting rid of old patterns.
Get more intentional.
Once you’ve taken some time for yourself, it’s important to get clear on what you want your life to look like. What are your core values? What kind of life do you want to create? Once you have a vision for your life, you can start taking steps to make it a reality.
Start reading.
A great way to learn more about yourself and the world around you is to start reading. You can read books, magazines, blogs, or anything else that interests you. Reading will help you expand your horizons and gain new perspectives. Starting over can be tough, but it’s possible with the right mindset and approach.
Reflect on past experiences.
Sometimes, the best way to start over is to reflect on past experiences. It’s important to think back and recognize what you want to change and how your past experiences have impacted you. When you’re starting over, your past experiences can be a great guiding light.
Embrace the challenge.
Finally, just embrace the challenge! You may feel a little fear when changing things up, but that is so normal. Take a deep breath, embrace the challenge, and allow yourself to be excited for the life ahead of you.
Go to a new place.
One of the best ways to start over is to physically move to a new place. This can help to give you a fresh perspective and provide new opportunities. I have done this in the past when I moved to a new city in the same state I lived in, or even when I decided to move to Arizona. I knew I wanted more in life than what I currently had, and knew it was up to me to get it.
Start journaling.
Writing down your thoughts and feelings can help you to process them and make sense of what’s happening in your life. It can also be a way to release negative emotions and set intentions for the future. Journaling is like having your own personal therapist at your fingertips. Seriously, getting your thoughts and feelings on paper helps you make sense of what’s happening in your life, release negative energy, and make plans for the future. So, grab a pen, and let’s start journaling our way to a better life!
Set your core values.
Clarifying your values is an essential step in creating a life that is fulfilling and meaningful. Knowing what you stand for will help you to make choices that are in alignment with your true self.
Think of clarifying your values as figuring out the GPS coordinates for your life’s journey. It’s like having a compass that guides you towards choices that are true to who you are and what truly matters to you.
Let go of old beliefs.
If you want to create something new in your life, it’s important to let go of any beliefs that are holding you back. This could involve releasing old patterns of thinking or behaviors that are no longer serving you. When starting over, it’s important to keep your mind open and be willing to let go of anything that is no longer serving you. Letting go of the old means making space for the new, allowing starting over to take hold and help you create a new life.
Don’t be afraid to make changes.
When you’re starting over, it’s the perfect time to make changes in your life. If there are things you’ve always wanted to do, now is the time to go for it. Follow your dreams and see where they take you.
Be patient with yourself.

What is Procrastination and Why Does It Happen
Ah, procrastination, that mysterious and tempting force that seems to grip us at the most inopportune times, especially at work. You know how it goes – you have an important task to complete, a deadline looming. And yet, you find yourself scrolling social media, daydreaming, or diving into an unrelated task.
Procrastination is that baffling delay in action, where we consciously put off tasks we know we should be focusing on. As to why it happens, there are quite a few reasons ranging from feeling overwhelmed by the size of the task ahead to the fear of failure, or even simple boredom.
It’s important to recognize that we’re all human and falling into the procrastination trap is normal. But identifying the reasons behind it is the first step in overcoming this pesky habit and reclaiming our focus and productivity. So, let’s conquer the procrastination beast together and get back to ticking off those to-do lists!
How to Identify the Causes of Procrastination
Procrastination can be a sneaky enemy, silently undermining productivity and efficiency. To catch it in its tracks and unravel its causes, start by observing your daily routine and interactions. Pay attention to the tasks that you or your team members consistently put off. And delve into the reasons behind it. Are they too challenging or uninteresting? Or is the environment itself hindering focus or motivation?
Simultaneously, take a look at the existing workflows and communication channels, as confusion or lack of clarity can inadvertently fuel procrastination. Finally, reflect on your own emotional state, physical well-being, and external stressors. These factors can greatly impact our ability to stay on task. The sooner you understand the root causes of procrastination in your workplace, the quicker you can implement effective solutions and set your team back on the path to success.
Strategies for Overcoming Procrastination
