Let’s be real honest here: the concept of how to get kids to clean without a fight not only seems like a pipe dream – it’s near laughable at this point. Your kids cleaning up WITHOUT fighting you and it turning into a screaming battle? HA!
But I’m here to tell you that it IS possible, as long as you approach it the right way. I’d like to think that we have this pretty down at this point. But fair warning: this is not a quick fix. This is a long-term game that requires commitment.
But a few months from now, you’ll be so happy that you did it. You might even have your preschooler jumping up to clean without you saying anything! (Yes, it’s possible!) If you’re in the same spot I was – ready to pull your hair out, tired of the screaming battles, and giving up to just do it yourself but pretty annoyed by the fact… keep reading.
I get you and I see you mama – it’s hard. But it doesn’t have to be. There is a better way.
How to Get Kids to Clean without a Fight
Ready for the tips to help you get your kids to clean without a power struggle? Let’s get to it.
Set clear expectations.
First things first – you absolutely have to set clear expectations. Kids are smarter than we give them credit for, but we need to provide consistency so they know what to expect. If they don’t… that’s when there’s problems as it creates a very chaotic response. So how do you start setting those expectations? There are a couple ways.
Communicate the rules.
The first thing you need to do is to set and start communicating the rules. You need to decide what this looks like for your family as everyone different.
Setting realistic expectations can look like:
If you pull out a toy, it needs to be put away before another one is brought out
Help make a mess, you help clean it up too
Toys must be picked up before transitioning to something else
All dirty clothes need to be put in the laundry/washing basket
They’re pretty simple, but they work! It takes time to understand and start following the rules, but set the expectation and keep reminding them. Eventually they will pick it up once it becomes a normal thing.
Follow a routine or schedule.
Once you’ve outlined and communicated the rules for cleaning up, make sure you have a routine or schedule to follow. This goes back to the consistency I talked about.
We generally clean up toys at these times:
After engaging in a block of open play time
Before we sit down for each meal
Before we go outside
These are the general rules to support the fact that life happens. Sometimes we are in a rush out the door, sometimes I just NEED the kids to get outside, and sometimes it’s something else completely. Create your routine in a way that allows life to happen.
But you also need an environment that makes this EASY. Which brings me to the next point…
Organize the environment.
A play area that is randomly thrown together makes cleaning up insanely hard. (It makes playing hard too!) You need to organize your environment that allows clean up to just flow without friction. There are a few ways to do this that I have found very helpful.
Avoid random tubs of toys.
Toy bins and toy boxes are the WORST thing you can have in a play room. This is where toys go to die and a guarantee for huge messes in minimal time.
All it takes is for one kid to remember that one McDonald’s toy from 6 weeks ago that is now buried at the bottom. They get frustrated that they can’t find it so what happens? ALL THE TOYS ARE ON THE FLOOR.
They dump a bin, pour arm fulls of toys on the floor, and everything in between. Then they complain when they have to clean up a giant pile of random toys that is VERY overwhelming. Let’s just avoid that all together by avoiding the random tub of toys situation.
So what should you do instead? I’ll explain.
Utilize organizational supplies.
There’s endless possibilities as to how to organize a playroom – just search Pinterest and you’ll see all that comes up! You’ll need to decide exactly how you want to set it up, but I HIGHLY encourage utilizing lots of organizational supplies to make things easy.
Here’s a few ideas to get you started:
Small bins that are clearly labeled with its contents
Cube shelving units with easy to access toys
Shelving for books to keep them off the floor
Rolling carts for things like art supplies
Give everything a spot.
Easily the MOST important tip I can give you. If nothing has a spot, you’ll hear a lot of “I don’t know where it goes” during cleanup and that gets real irritating fast. Plus, kids naturally do better when they are empowered to do things for themselves.
Organizing the space will help a lot – but make sure everything has a spot. Avoid randomly throwing things somewhere because you don’t know what else to do with it. Get more organizational supplies, if needed.
Provide support.
Now that you got the boundaries set and creating an environment that’s easy for cleaning up, it’s time to actually implement! Be patient as it will take a while for kids to transition to doing things this way.
Explain the importance of a clean space.
First and foremost – explain the importance of a clean space. “Because mom said so” is not a great reason and that won’t help them develop good cleaning habits. Instead, explain to them that cleaning several times throughout the day helps avoid big messes. You can also explain that we FEEL BETTER once it’s done. We feel calmer (mental health is a HUGE focus in our home) and we will have more room to play later.
Make it a fun game.
Cleaning is BORING – especially to kids. While us adults can push through it, expecting a child to do the same will lead to some problems during clean up. Set the expectation to find ways to ENJOY it.
We like to do things like:
Have a dance party while we clean up together
See who can get it done the fastest (and award the winner)
Play freeze and see who can get more done in each burst
Set a timer and try to beat the clock
Get creative and I’m sure you can figure out all sorts of ways to make cleaning more fun for kids!
Direct them when they are struggling.
Sometimes it can be a real struggle to get everything cleaned up. If it’s a big mess, it can be overwhelming to look at. Start by directing them to do a very specific action.
We always start with picking up blocks so I will instruct them to grab the block bag and fill it up. When they’re done, I’ll tell them to put all the dolls in their spot. After we gain momentum, they are much more likely to keep going on their own. Unfortunately, things won’t go perfect every time – as much as we want them to. Which leads me to one last reminder…
Pick your battles.
It is VITAL to remember to pick your battles. Some days are harder than others and it’s important to remember that kids are just tiny humans with bigger emotions and less understanding of the world around them. Be gentle with yourself and your children.
Avoid power struggles.
Power struggles are the WORST trap to get into. You’re yelling because you feel like you need to maintain control and your child is dead set on NOT doing anything purely because they’re testing you. This cycle can repeat for HOURS if you let it, too. Instead, try your best to support your child and follow their lead in regards to how they’re feeling and make adjustments as you go to support them in the process. (Knowing your child’s love language can help too!)
Know when to offer your help.
To stem off that, pay attention to your child and know when they truly need your help. Acts of defiance can oftentimes be something else entirely. Maybe they’re struggling with some STRONG emotions. Maybe they had a really hard day. And maybe they just need a chance to relax. Or maybe they want to spend time with you instead of doing it alone.
If it would be easier on BOTH of you to step in and help them and showcase teamwork… do it. Once in a while certainly isn’t going to hurt anything.
Now you can clean without a fight!
Getting your kids to clean can be a real challenge- but it doesn’t have to be. If you’re struggling to get your older kids to help around the house, try teaching them the proper way to clean. Show them how to dust, vacuum, and properly load the dishwasher. You can even turn it into a game by timing them to see who can finish first. For young children, lend a hand and make it into a fun activity. Play some music and dance around as you tidy up together. Cleaning doesn’t have to be a chore, and with a little creativity it can be something that the whole family enjoys.
Start by setting clear expectations by communicating the rules and following a solid routine so your child knows what to expect. It also helps to setup the environment so that cleaning happens easily. When you start cleaning, offer your support by communicating and directing them when they seem to be having a hard time. Get creative and find ways to turn cleaning into a game!
At the end of the day, you also need to pick your battles and know when it’s time to offer you help. So next time you’re feeling frustrated, remember these tips and enjoy a clean home without all the fuss. Do you have any tips on how to get kids to clean without fighting? Comment them below!
Traveling with pets can be a delightful experience. Having your furry companion by your side adds an extra level of joy and companionship to your adventures. However, it’s important to acknowledge that traveling with pets, be it by car or plane, can also present unique challenges. With careful planning and preparation, you can ensure that your pet’s journey is as stress-free and enjoyable as possible. In this blog post, we’ll explore 10 pet travel essentials that will help keep your beloved dog or cat comfortable and safe throughout the entire trip.
If you’re embarking on an international trip, having your pet’s passport and vaccination records is crucial. Check the requirements of your destination country in advance and make sure your pet is up to date on all necessary vaccinations. Proper documentation ensures a smooth entry and avoids any unnecessary complications.
Whether you’re on a road trip or flying with your furry friend, seat covers are a fantastic investment. They protect your car or airline seat from shedding fur, dirt, and accidents. Opt for durable, waterproof covers that are easy to clean and provide a comfortable space for your pet.
Traveling can be stressful for pets, so packing their favorite toys is a good idea. Familiar toys provide comfort and entertainment during the journey, helping to ease any anxiety or boredom. Chew toys and interactive puzzles are excellent choices to keep your pet engaged.
An essential item for any pet travel checklist is a well-stocked first aid kit. Accidents and injuries can happen anywhere, so be prepared with basic supplies such as bandages, antiseptic solution, tweezers, and any medication your pet may require. Consult your veterinarian for specific recommendations tailored to your pet’s needs.
Traveling with pets in unfamiliar surroundings increases the risk of them getting lost. Ensure your pet wears an updated ID tag with your contact information, including your mobile number. This simple precaution can help reunite you with your furry friend if they wander off.
For air travel or road trips, a sturdy and comfortable pet carrier is essential. Look for carriers that meet airline requirements if you’re flying. For car trips, choose carriers that can be securely fastened with a seat belt to keep your pet safe during the journey. Small dogs may prefer soft-sided carriers, while larger breeds may require more spacious options.
7. Snacks and Food:
Keeping your pet well-fed and hydrated is crucial during travel. Pack enough food and treats for the duration of the trip, and opt for travel-friendly containers. Consider portable water bowls and ensure access to fresh water at all times. Stick to your pet’s regular diet to avoid digestive upsets.
8. Dog Bed:
If you’re staying overnight in a hotel room or at a friend’s place, bringing along your pet’s bed can provide a familiar and comfortable space for them to rest. Familiar scents and a cozy spot can help reduce anxiety and ensure a good night’s sleep for both you and your furry companion.
9. Seat Belt Restraints:
For car trips, the safety of your pet is paramount. Invest in a seat belt restraint or a dog-specific harness that can be attached to the car’s seat belt system. This prevents your pet from roaming around the vehicle and helps protect them in case of sudden stops or accidents.
A collapsible travel bowl is an invaluable item when it comes to pet travel. These lightweight and portable bowls can be easily packed and allow for convenient feeding and watering on the go. Ensure your pet stays hydrated and comfortable throughout the journey by having a travel bowl within reach.
Traveling with your pet can be a rewarding and memorable experience, and with the right preparation, it can be a stress-free one as well. By having these 10 pet travel essentials at hand, you’ll be well-equipped to ensure the comfort, safety, and happiness of your furry friend throughout your journey. From securing important documents like pet passports to providing familiar toys, cozy beds, and nourishing food, each item plays a crucial role in making your pet feel at ease while on the go. So, pack your bags, buckle up, and embark on exciting adventures with your beloved companion, knowing that you have everything you need to create wonderful memories together. Bon voyage!
Fall is the most perfect time of the year in Arizona. It starts the beginning of patio season, comfortable hot air balloon rides, enjoyable hikes and walks, cozy clothes, and actually getting outside to do things! Our population also doubles in size during fall and winter when the Snowbirds come back for their winter home. We also don’t sweat to death walking from the car to a store, which is always pleasant!
After a year of very few events, I’m happy to say, events are back on this fall in Arizona. While we don’t get the typical fall colors from the changing leaves here in the Phoenix Valley, up in Northern Arizona these are a staple as well as cooler temperatures. Pumpkin Patches, State Fair, Brewery and Food festivals, and so much more are returning this year to Arizona. Whether you are local to Arizona, visiting for the first time, a Snowbird, or a kid, there’s something for everyone here this fall and I can’t wait to share it all with you!

If you are close to Phoenix, AZ, this is a must visit!

Fall is in the air! The fall leaves are changing colors, the temperature is dropping, and pumpkin spice everything is back. This is my favorite time of year. It’s a time for family, friends, and fun. In this blog post, we will discuss 19 cozy things to do in the fall. Whether you’re spending time at home or traveling around the country, there’s something for everyone!
19 Cozy Things To Do In The Fall
1. Make a pumpkin pie.
Fall is the perfect time to enjoy pumpkin spice everything, and pumpkin pie is no exception. This classic dessert is easy to make and is always a hit with family and friends. To get started, you’ll need pumpkin puree, eggs, condensed milk, sugar, cinnamon, ginger, and pumpkin pie spice. Simply combine all of the ingredients in a bowl and mix until smooth. Then pour the mixture into a prepared pie crust and bake at 425 degrees for 15 minutes. Reduce the oven temperature to 350 degrees and continue baking for 40-50 minutes, or until the filling is set. Let the pie cool before serving. If you are like us, the more whipped cream the better, so don’t forget that when you are getting ready to enjoy!
2. Go on a hayride.
Hayrides are one of the most classic fun fall activities and for good reason. They offer a unique opportunity to enjoy the crisp autumn air and the beautiful changing leaves. They also provide a great setting for a date night or an evening with friends. Best of all, hayrides can be found on many farms and nature trails across the country. So whether you’re in the Midwest or another part of the country, be sure to check out a local hayride this fall! And don’t forget to roast some marshmallows over a bonfire afterward.
3. Drink apple cider.
As the leaves begin to turn and the days grow shorter, many people find themselves reaching for a warm cup of pumpkin spice. However, apple cider is a delicious and underappreciated fall drink that is perfect for those early autumn days. While it might be controversial, apple cider is my personal favorite fall beverage. There is something about its warm, slightly sweet flavor that feels like autumn in a cup. Plus, apple cider is incredibly versatile and can be enjoyed hot or cold. Whether you’re looking for an alternative to pumpkin spice or simply want to enjoy the taste of fall, give apple cider a try. You might just find that it’s your new favorite fall drink.
4. Wear a sweater and boots.
As the weather gets colder, it’s important to make sure that you’re dressing appropriately for the temperature. Wearing a sweater and boots is a great way to keep warm while still looking fashionable. Layering is key when the temperature starts to drop. A sweater can be easily removed if you start to feel too warm, which is often the case as the autumn days wear on, but it will still provide an extra layer of warmth when you need it. Boots are also a great way to add an extra layer of warmth while still being stylish. They can be dressed up or down, depending on the occasion. Whether you’re headed to the office or out for a night on the town, a pair of boots is a must-have for fall style.
5. Watch a horror movie.
For some people, horror movies are the stuff of nightmares. But for others, they can be strangely addictive. There are a few theories as to why this is the case. One is that horror movies provide a way to safely explore our fears. Another is that they help us to vicariously experience the adrenaline rush of fear without actually being in danger. Whatever the reason, there is no denying that horror movies have a unique hold on many of us. So if you’re looking for a way to get your heart racing during the fall, consider a horror movie night the next time you need a little thrill.
And if you’re feeling extra daring, why not take your scare-seeking to the next level by visiting a haunted house before your movie marathon? There are plenty of budget-friendly options out there, and it could be a fun and spooky activity to do with friends or family. And for those of you who love Halloween, a scary movie or haunted house visit could also serve as inspiration for your next Halloween costume! Get creative with makeup and thrift store finds to make a stylish and budget-friendly costume that’s sure to turn heads.
6. Visit a corn maze.
Fall is the perfect time to visit a corn maze. Not only are they a lot of fun, but they’re also a great way to get outside and enjoy the cooler weather. Plus, when you’re done, many corn mazes have a pile of leaves you can take a stroll through. Just be sure to wear comfortable shoes and bring a jacket, as it can get cold in the maze.
7. Make caramel apples.
Caramel apples are a fun and easy fall-themed treat that the whole family can enjoy. To make them, start by gathering your supplies. You will need apples, caramel candies, wooden sticks, and a candy melting pot. Once you have all of your supplies, wash the apples and dry them thoroughly. Next, insert a wooden stick into the top of each apple. Melt the caramel candies in the candy melting pot according to the package directions. Once the caramel is melted, hold each apple by the stick and dip it into the caramel. Allow the excess caramel to drip off before placing the apple on a sheet of wax paper to cool. Once the caramel has hardened, your homemade caramel apples are ready to enjoy!
8. Go apple picking.
Fall is the perfect time to go apple picking, a great activity for couples, families, friends, you name it! Not only is the weather cooler, making it more pleasant to spend time outdoors, but the apples are also at their peak of ripeness. There are many different types of apples to choose from, so you can be sure to find a variety that suits your taste. And what could be more satisfying than biting into a crisp, juicy apple that you picked yourself on a stunning fall day? Apple picking is a great activity for the whole family, and it’s a fun way to get out and enjoy the autumn weather. You can also go pick your apples and then make caramel apples as outlined in #7 (or you could make apple pie!). So this season, be sure to add apple picking to your list of activities.
9. Visit a pumpkin patch.
Pumpkin patches are a great place to visit in the fall. Not only can you find the perfect pumpkin for your jack-o-lantern or other fun pumpkin carvings, but you can also enjoy the festive atmosphere and hayrides. To make the most of your visit, be sure to go during the week when it is less crowded. You should also try to visit early in the season so that you can pick your pumpkins before they are all gone. And don’t forget to bring some cash so that you can buy some fresh apple cider and other fall treats. With a little planning, you can have a great time at your local pumpkin patch.
10. Roast marshmallows.
Roasting marshmallows is a classic camping activity that is enjoyed by young and old alike and is easy to continue into the fall. There are a few things to keep in mind when roasting marshmallows, to ensure that they are perfectly cooked. First, make sure that the marshmallows are at room temperature before you start cooking them. If they are too cold, they will take longer to roast and may end up being burnt on the outside but still raw in the middle.
Second, use long skewers or sticks to roast the marshmallows, so that you can keep a safe distance from the fire. Finally, don’t be afraid to experiment with different types of wood for roasting. Different woods will impart different flavors to the marshmallows, so try a few different kinds to see what you like best. With these tips in mind, roasting marshmallows is easy and fun for everyone.
11. Make a scarecrow.
A scarecrow can be a great addition to any fall decor, and they’re easy to make! All you need is a few basic materials and a little bit of creativity. First, you’ll need to find a long piece of wood or rebar for the main body of the scarecrow. You’ll also need some old clothes, stuffing material, and a couple of sticks or pieces of rope for the arms. To assemble your scarecrow, simply tie the arms to the body, stuff the clothes with either straw or old towels, and then put the whole thing in your garden. Now all you need to do is add a face – you can use anything from paint to bottle caps to buttons. Be creative and have fun!
12. Go on a nature hike.
There are many benefits to spending time in nature, and one of the best ways to enjoy the outdoors is by going on a nature hike. hiking is a great way to get some exercise and fresh air and spend time with family or friends. Additionally, hiking can help you to appreciate the beauty of your surroundings and learn more about the local flora and fauna. To get the most out of your hike, be sure to wear comfortable shoes, pack plenty of water, and bring a map. And most importantly, don’t forget to have fun!
13. Rake leaves.
As the leaves begin to change color and fall from the trees, many people see it as a time to get outside and enjoy the cooler weather. However, if you don’t want your yard to be covered in leaves, you’ll need to do some raking. Raking leaves may not sound like the most exciting way to spend a weekend afternoon, but there are a lot of benefits to it. For one thing, it’s a great way to get some exercise. Raking uses muscles in your arms and legs that you don’t normally use, so it’s a great way to stay active as the weather gets colder.
In addition, raking leaves can help to improve the health of your lawn. Leaves that are left on the ground can smother grass and prevent sunlight from reaching the soil, so raking them up can give your lawn a much-needed boost. And finally, raking leaves is simply satisfying. Something is satisfying about making a neat pile of leaves and seeing the results of your hard work. So next time you’re feeling overwhelmed by the task of raking leaves, remember that it’s good for you—and your yard! And don’t forget to include your kids so they can benefit from being able to jump in the leaves too!
14. Read a book by the fireplace.
As the days grow shorter and the weather cools, cozy activities become increasingly appealing. One of the simplest and most enjoyable ways to enjoy the autumn months is to curl up by the fireplace with a good book. The combination of warmth, light, and comfort can make even the most challenging book an enjoyable read. And there’s nothing quite like the crackle of fire to set the mood. If you don’t have a fireplace, candles can create a similar ambiance. So find a comfortable spot, grab your favorite book and soft blankets, and cozy up as the leaves begin to fall. This is even more perfect on a dreary, rainy day.
15. Explore local parks.
Fall is the ideal season to immerse yourself in nature’s colorful show. Take a stroll through your local park, venture out on nearby trails, or even visit a botanical garden. The breathtaking hues of the changing leaves will provide a stunning backdrop for your fall adventures. Plus, it’s a budget-friendly way to enjoy the season’s beauty. Or instead of just taking a casual walk in your neighborhood, why not try something a little more adventurous? How about a horseback ride through the countryside, a bike ride on nearby trails, or even a fun scavenger hunt in a local park? Not only will you get to see the stunning colors of the season, but these activities won’t break the bank. So let’s get out there and make the most of this beautiful time of year!
16. Have a bonfire.
With fall in full swing, it’s the perfect time to start crossing off some items on your fall bucket list. One idea to make the most of the season is to plan a cozy bonfire gathering with your friends or loved ones. A roaring fire is one of my favourite fall scents, and really kicks off this time of year for me. Roast some marshmallows, share stories, and enjoy the warmth of the fire while surrounded by the beautiful autumn scenery. Just make sure to check out your local regulations for fire pits or designated areas where you can safely enjoy this cozy experience. It’s a great way to create lasting memories with the people you care about, without breaking the bank. So why not add it to your fall festival plans and make the most of this wonderful time of year?

Did you know that some parts of the US attribute heart attacks to job-related stress? Totally crazy, right? So much so that work-related injuries garner more than adequate compensations.
Through the years, there were studies conducted claiming that massive sources of American adults’ stress are highly caused by workplace stress. In a StressPulse survey by ComPsych in 2006, the leading causes of stress are workload, people issues at work, juggling work and personal lives, and lack of job security.
It’s definitely not surprising because when you’re overwhelmed with work, it’s easy to fall into the toxic cycle of feeling stressed, confused, and ultimately, burnout. So, what are the ways to handle it? Can you lower your stress levels at work? Let me share with you some of the strategies you can use when you are overwhelmed at work.
What To Do When You Are Overwhelmed At Work
Find the source of your stress.
Being overwhelmed at work is sometimes isolating and alienating. It often leads to blaming what you feel on something else or someone else. It could be an officemate, spouse, or friend. However, to adequately address it, you have to identify the source of your work stress.
It’s not an easy thing to do because most of the time, the reasons are pent-up. Self-assessment is the key to this. Use a “Why” approach to list down your guessed cause and ask why until you get to the bottom of it.
For example, I’m stressed because I work beyond my time.
Why?
I can’t finish all my tasks in a day.
Why?
I have so many tasks.
Why?
I’m spending too much time on meetings.
Why?
I’m taking in the tasks of a resigned coworker.
You can also start a journal or a spreadsheet to help you identify the triggers of your stress. To reduce the overwhelm, set up goals, pay attention to your tasks, how they make you feel, and when you are prone to procrastination.
Set boundaries.
Usually, boundaries at work mean putting value to your time. When your workload is growing, don’t resort to more extended hours. Respect your break time. It will help your mind to see the bigger picture and better solutions.
Set boundaries by learning how to say NO by asking questions and holding yourself accountable for using your time. A well-defined schedule is a life-saver.
Take time to plan.
Set aside some time to create a plan on how you will go around your tasks and schedule. The goal here is to be efficient at a given time and use resources available to you effectively. Create that actionable list. The more visible your plans are, the less time it will take you to worry about tackling them.
Don’t fret. Planning is part of the process. By writing it down in your journal, you are making a guide for yourself. It gives an insight on what to prioritize and which task needs to focus on at a particular time.
Ask for help.
Outsource, delegate, ask for help. Look at the list you made. Categorize the tasks with high priority, those you can do, and those that you can request assistance with. If it’s something, you can pass off to someone else, if they can do better than you at doing it, then delegate. Or simply just ask for help in terms of talking to someone about what’s going on at work. This can be a friend, family member, or even a co-worker.
Recognize the abilities of those around you; if they’re capable of finishing the task adequately, then you’re good. Remember, asking for help doesn’t mean you’re weak. It means you value teamwork and understands the importance of self-care and time. Asking for help is also a great way to practice mindfulness when it comes to you and your own boundaries.
Take a break.
Breaks are essential; they are breathers that help you look at things in perspective without the weight of workload. It is a means of taking care of yourself. Use this time to eat good food, walk around the block, have a quick stroll, go on vacation, take a nap, hang out with friends, go on a date, or watch a movie.
Take that precious time to clear your mind off everything work-related and focus on your well-being. It will reset your point of view, and most likely, you will find a spark of joy at the workplace again.
Set realistic goals.
Put together a list of daily or weekly goals to help you prioritize and maintain your schedule at work. This can also help you to enjoy small wins by creating digestible tasks. Goals are super helpful at work and in normal life.
Try breathing exercises.
Breathing exercises, or simply taking a big, deep breath, can seriously help you feel better. It can transform the way you feel, and really set the tone for your day. Start with breathing exercises every morning, or learn how to use them when things aren’t going right.
Say goodbye to overwhelm and hello to a positive work balance.
Sometimes, it feels like you’re drowning in a rabbit hole of to-do lists and you don’t feel complete at work. However, this doesn’t have to take so much of your energy and time. Stress is a result of something, and if appropriately addressed, you can reign that control of your workload and time back. On top of it all, take care of yourself. After all, you’re working to have a better life, so don’t let it get the best of you. Work smart, live happily, and reduce stress in your life.
Ps: Don’t forget that you’re never alone and it’s okay to speak up about what’s going on. If you feel you need to, speaking to a mental health professional who can help you deal with feeling overwhelmed can be hugely beneficial. You got this!
To achieve your goals and live the life you want to live, you need to learn how to set intentions for manifestation. Use these tips to help.
Goals…intentions…manifestations. Chances are you’ve heard these words, but do you know what they mean and how to apply them to your lives? Think of that goal that excites you as your “what”. Then take it a step further and think about what the feeling is that you hope that goal will bring into your life – that’s your “why”.
And we’re not done yet. You can take it one step further to manifesting. The manifestation process is the act of making your wants into a reality. Our intentions are the driving force behind manifesting the things we desire in life. And by setting intentions for manifestation, you can live a free and purposeful life. Join me on this journey and learn how to set intentions!
If our intentions are the driving force behind manifesting the things we want in our lives, then intention setting is the first step in the process of manifesting. Creating intentions should be fun and exciting because they are things you want to do. And it’s far more than simply thinking about a goal.
Here are 5 helpful tips for setting intentions, staying positive, and turning your mindset into a reality. Take a look!
Create a Mantra
Take a moment to think about what you want. How are you subconsciously stopping yourself from achieving it? Push all those negative thoughts away and create a positive mantra that you can repeat to yourself and help you continue to work towards manifesting. Here are some examples of what a simple intention/mantra may look like on paper:
I intend to process my emotions before responding.
I will strive to have a productive day.
I intend to forgive myself and others.
I intend to love myself and others.
I will make self-care a priority.
Share Your Intention With Someone Else
Sharing your intentions with another person will help you stay focused and accountable to your goals. Setting powerful intentions and sharing them with someone else can also make that a more real and spoken word instead of simply keeping it in your head and not feeling real. This person can be your accountability buddy and keep you on track with your intentions.
Create a Ritual
This one is really important because everyone can falter in their work towards an intention from time to time. Make your intentions part of your morning routine. The routine should make you feel good, as you want the good feelings to give you more in achieving the good vibrations and emotions and relate that to your manifestations.
For example, if you like to enjoy a cup of coffee each morning, make it a point to visualize your intentions and manifestation as you sip your coffee. Maybe you feel extra powerful meditating under full moons each month. Focus your thoughts and intentions on manifesting what you want even more so then.
Ask for What You Want
As your day begins, take a moment to ask for what you want. Then let it go so that you aren’t trying to control every bit of your day to match your desire. Trust the process and let the law of attraction work in your life. It might be helpful to create a vision board to help you organize what you want. Part of the intention-setting process is about trusting and knowing that what you ask for is coming to you. Let the law of attraction support you in achieving what you ask for, and not worrying it will happen.
Without financial abundance, this one part can be really hard. We all worry about money sometimes. But the key to manifestation is knowing that if you’re meant to manifest your desire, you will. It will just come. The best way to do this is to write out your intentions so that you can practice manifestation + visualizing it. You can do this while you’re doing your daily journal entry, or separately. Either way, writing out your intentions will attract them to you.
How To Write Intentions for Manifestation
Intentions for manifestation are simple sentences that are harmonious with your desires/wants. When writing your intentions, you’ll want to write in the present tense or future tense, because you are currently striving to achieve them. By writing them down, reading them over and over, and even stating them out loud, you are using the power of attraction to manifest the highest good for your life. In a way, you are also motivating and inspiring yourself to achieve these intentions.
Writing an intention statement looks different for everyone. And there is no perfect intention. So, feel free to try a few different sets of intention statements until you find the ones that work best for you. Good intention statements, similar to affirmations, focus on the feelings of positive energy, motivation, and your deepest desires. See examples of intention statements above!
Practice Gratitude
It’s important to be grateful for everything you have at this moment. Once you do that, take it a step further by practicing gratitude for what you deeply desire. Because that act of repeatedly focusing on your intention will keep you working towards manifestation. By creating a habit and a pattern, you reinforce your goals and pave the way for success.
The Benefits of Setting Intentions
Manifesting your intentions which you deeply desire may sound a little “out there” to some people, but there are real benefits to participating in this practice. Just remember to keep your mind wide open, and the inspiration and manifestation will come.
Encourages positivity.
Starting your day with setting intentions sets the tone for the day, increases self-awareness, and can transform it by creating a positive mindset. Be sure to frame your intentions in a positive way to set a positive tone for the day. For example, “I will take calming breaths when stressful things arise today” rather than “I want to avoid stressful situations today.” This will help you keep moving forward productively even when challenges arise.
Improves your productivity.
Just as setting positive intentions sets the mental mind space for the day, it also affects your productivity. Positive intentions can discourage procrastination and encourage productivity toward manifestation. Your life will completely change when you encourage positive intentions and productivity.
Helps you take aligned action.
Even if you employ the law of attraction to the greatest degree possible, you still have to take action to achieve your goals. Taking action is what propels you forward toward success in achieving your goals. Use your daily intentions to break your larger goal up into small chunks so you can systematically and logically move forward toward manifestation in a non-overwhelming way.
Makes you more focused.
By setting just a few intentions each day, you can work on taking aligned action in small, manageable chunks to avoid procrastination and be more mindful and focused on accomplishing those small tasks.
